The most important tasks of the
Administration of Deposits, Consignations and Opposition (DCO) consist in
the receipt, the custody and the refund of deposits, both in money and in
securities to the persons entitled.
These deposits can be imposed legally, regulatory,
judicially or administratively or can be made voluntarily.
As from 2007, the DCO Administration has also been charged
to manage the balances on dormant accounts of which the holders could not be
traced within the stipulated period.
